Rules & safety
Rules
Safety is mission number one. Read the rules before you play — the referee runs through them at the briefing, but it pays to know them in advance.
01Equipment & safety
- Nobody steps onto the field without their playing and protective gear: overalls and a mask or helmet.
- If a player's face mask gets knocked out of place during a game, they must shout “STOP THE GAME!” and play stops immediately.
- Get to know your marker. Only take the safety off once the game has started.
- Never point your marker at anyone outside the marked-out playing field.
02Game rules
- Games are played only on the purpose-built field, fenced off with safety netting.
- A player is out as soon as they're marked with paint anywhere on their body or kit.
- Never fire at a player who's less than 5 metres away.
- Don't load paintballs you find on the field into your hopper.
- Hiding or wiping off a paint mark on purpose is a foul, and it will be penalised.
- Physical contact, or trying to grab an opponent's marker, gets you eliminated.
03Liability
- Anyone who causes damage by misusing the equipment is held responsible for it.
